In scholarship on design and cinema (itself an ignored area), the relationship between film and art nouveau has been almost entirely overlooked. Born in the same era as cinema, the movement's influence can, however, be found in the trick and féerie films of Segundo de Chomón—a Spanish director working for Pathé in France.
