Editor's Statement


The current issue focuses on the Caribbean basin and presents articles that are both archaeological and historical in nature as well as those informed by the current contexts of local identity in the Caribbean region. This purely geographical emphasis allows comparisons across a region that has been notoriously fragmented in cultural and historical terms. Offering here a selection of current work from across the Caribbean is intended to encourage further integration of research issues and methodologies.
