Eric Aronoff . . .
is Assistant Professor in the Residential College of Arts and Humanities of Michigan State University. His current book manuscript, "Composing Cultures: American Literature, Criticism and the Problem of Culture, 1903-1941," examines the interdisciplinary debates over culture that shaped modernism, focusing on sites as diverse as the novels of Willa Cather, the Melville revival of the 1920s, and the poetic theories of the New Criticism. His work has appeared in MFS: Modern Fiction Studies and Genre.
Colleen C. O'Brien . . .
is Fall 2012 Fulbright Research Chair in North American Studies at the University of Western Ontario and Assistant Professor of Early American Literature at the University of South Carolina-Upstate. Her research interest in hemispheric American studies focuses on the history, literature, and culture of the nineteenth century. She has published various journal articles on transnational race relations, gender, and sexuality and completed a first book manuscript, "Romance and Rebellion in the Nineteenth Century Americas." She is now working on her second major project, "Metaphors of Heart's Blood and Home: Unsung Revolutionaries and Agrarian Freedom in the Americas."
Todd Nathan Thompson . . .
is Assistant Professor of English at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, where he also serves as coordinator of the MA in Literature and MA Generalist programs. He has published scholarship on political satire in Early American Literature, Journal of [End Page 255] American Culture, Studies in American Humor, the Blackwell Companion to Poetic Genre, and elsewhere. Thompson is presently at work on a book manuscript titled "The National Joker: Abraham Lincoln as Satirist-Satirized." [End Page 256]
