The essay centers on the politics of knowledge inside and outside of academia. It also answers back to the witch hunt that still dogs Orientalism a quarter of a century after its first publication. The conservative Right continues to be blinded by their own insight. In seeking the alternative, the essay hopes to engage in a dialogue that reflects both the classroom and the society at large.
