Michael Arntfield is a PhD candidate and lecturer in the Faculty of Information and Media Studies at the University of Western Ontario, as well as a member of the distinguished speaker series at the Centre for American Studies. He also remains a serving police officer with over ten years' law enforcement experience, including as a homicide and robbery detective, surveillance officer, and uniformed patrolman.

Geoff Hamilton is an assistant professor in the Department of English and Drama at the University of Toronto, Mississauga. His research focuses on representations of autonomy in American literature.

Brianne Howard is a PhD candidate in the Department of Art at Queen's University. Her research investigates African collections in Canadian cultural institutions.

Ryan J. Kirkby is a PhD candidate in the Department of History at the University of Waterloo. This article is based on his master's research. He is studying the Vietnam Veterans against the War and its anti-authoritarian brand of activism.

Elisabeth Mermann-Jozwiak teaches American literature at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. She is the author of Postmodern Vernaculars: Chicana Literature and Postmodern Rhetoric, and Languages and Literatures in the Borderlands: Conversations with Mexican American Writers, as well as articles on women's and ethnic literatures.

Michael T. Schuyler holds master's degrees in both literature and cinema studies and obtained his PhD in Mass Media and Communication in 2011. His work also appears in the Journal of Film and Video and JNT: Journal of Narrative Theory and will soon appear in Studies in American Humor. He adjuncts throughout the New York area.
