This December marks an important transition in the history of the Bulletin. Susan Abrams is stepping down as Associate Editor of the Bulletin after 17 years in this position. Susan's attention to detail, her wide knowledge of the field, her skillful diplomacy, high standards, unflagging optimism, good will and sense of humor, have made her a pleasure to work with, while contributing greatly to the success of the Bulletin. She will be missed by all of us who have been involved with the Bulletin during these years.

At the same time we are very fortunate to have been able to recruit a new Associate Editor, who comes to us with a strong background in journal production. Over the past 10 years Carolyn McLaughlin has worked in a range of editorial positions, including, most recently as production account manager for the Journals Department of the American Psychological Association. She brings to the Bulletin experience with the latest technologies in journal production and will help us navigate the changing technical landscape of academic publishing. Carolyn also enjoys working with scholars and will carry on Susan's tradition of effective personal communications between the Bulletin and its authors and reviewers. We look forward to welcoming Carolyn to the Bulletin and to introducing her to the members of the Association in Rochester.

The Bulletin's second Special Issue will appear in Spring 2008, and we hope to make these theme issues an annual event. The editors welcome submissions of possible topics, with the understanding that publication would be scheduled approximately 18 months later. Our first available opening will be in 2010; the deadline for submitting proposals for this issue is 1 September 2008. Proposals should include: the names of the guest editor(s), a two-page description and rationale for the issue, and a list of potential contributors and the titles of their articles. A Special Issue can accommodate up to 10 articles, each with a maximum of 9,000 words of text. We look forward to receiving your submissions. [End Page vii]

We've much appreciated having their advice and support over the past three years.
