Zila Abedsaeedi is Assiatant Professor of Management in Health Sciences, Shahid Besheshti University of Medical Sciences, Tehran, Iran. Dr Abedsaeedi has published in the Journal of Nursing and Midwidery, Shahid Besheshti University of Medical Sciences.

Ruwan Deshabandu is currently a consultant psychiatrist, Eastern Health, Melbourne. He previously worked in Sri Lanka as a psychiatrist. He is also the founding editor of the ‘Gaveshana-Explorer’ research journal published by Institute for Research & Development.

Saleema Gulzar is Assistant Professor at the Aga Khan University, School of Nursing and Midwifery, Karachi, Pakistan. She posses around 15 years of experience in a variety of settings such as community and public health nurse, school health nurse, student counsellor and health researcher where she was responsible for health education classes and health curriculum development. On clinical side, Ms Gulzar worked as registered nurse at Aga Khan University and Hospital.

Parkhideh Hasani is Assistant Professor of Nursing at Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences, Tehran, Iran. Dr Hasani has published in the field of graduates nursing studies.

Suwin Hewage is a graduate of Faculty of Medicine, University of Colombo. He has been working as a temporary lecturer in the Medical Education Unit of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Kelaniya while following an MSc programme at the Postgraduate institute of Agriculture at University of Peradeniya.

Joshua Hoe is a 4th year medical student in Yong Lee Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore. Joshua wrote this piece when he was in his third year at YLL SoM.

Rostram Jalali is Assistant Professor of Nursing, Kermanshah University of Medical Sciences in Kermanshah, Iran. Dr Jalali teaches research methods in the School of Nursing and has research interests in Bioethics.

Rozina Karmaliani was the Interim Dean at the Aga Khan University, School of Nursing and Midwifery, Karachi, Pakistan until June 2012. She is an Associate Professor in the Community Health Sciences Department. Dr. Karmaliani began her career as a Community Health Nurse and Preceptor in the CHS department at AKU in 1988. She then went on to complete her MPH in Public Health Administration in 1994, her MScN in Public Health Nursing Administration in 1997 and her PhD in Nursing, from the University of Minnesota. In her leadership role, she has overseen the strategic development and implementation of nursing education programs in Afghanistan, Syria and Egypt. [End Page 247]

Reidar K. Lie has a medical degree from the University of Bergen and a Ph.D. in Philosophy from the University of Minnesota. He was Head of the Unit on Multinational Research in the Department of Bioethics, NIH, USA, from 2002 to 2011. He is now Professor and Head of the Department of Philosophy, University of Bergen, Norway. He was adjunct professor of research ethics at Thammasat University, Bangkok, Thailand until 2008, and is now visiting professor at the Institute of Basic Medical Sciences, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, Peking Union Medical College in Beijing, China. His current research interests include ethical issues of international collaborative research and ethical issues in health sector reform in developing countries. He has been a consultant to WHO and UNAIDS on international research ethics, and has organized training workshops on ethical issues in research and health care in Latin America, Asia, Europe and Africa on behalf of WHO and NIH.

Low Yin Yee Sharon is a neurosurgical registrar based in the National Neuroscience Institute, Singapore. She is currently pursuing a research-based PhD at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, Singapore. Her area of interest is in primary brain tumours, especially high-grade gliomas. Dr Low has previously published in ABR.

John Kit Chung Tam is Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery, CTVS, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore. Dr Tam is a Thoracic and Esophageal Surgeon with special expertise in Advance Minimally Invasive Surgery.

Chun Ming Teoh is a PhD student in the Department of Physiology, National University of Singapore (NUS) with NUS Research Scholarship under the faculty of Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine.
