Chili, chat,and light so soft I thoughtof those who had to keepthe slightest fire to work,how these small flames inducedus all to talk and lookmore carefully from faceto face. Thomas Alan Holmes grew up in Cullman, Alabama, and is currently a professor of literature and associate dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, Tennessee. He has co-edited two scholarly books and is working on co-editing a couple more, including one on East Tennessee poet Jeff Daniel Marion.
