APPALACHIAN HERITAGE was founded in 1973 by Albert Stewart at Alice Lloyd College in Pippa Passes, Kentucky, and has been published since 1985 by Berea College, Berea, Kentucky. It is currently a program of the College’s Loyal Jones Appalachian Center.

APPALACHIAN HERITAGE is distributed by the University of North Carolina Press: uncpress_journals@unc.edu. Subscriptions are $30 a year for individuals and $40 a year for libraries.
