I had to wait until I’m old to get here, to these awe inspiring mountains, these Cherokee Mountains in the old Southeast, this realm of Jul’calla. The markings on his rock are wearing thin. They don’t show up anymore so well these days. Even so, his mountains still soar, still rise above us, towering, illustrating to us at each and every moment our own inferiority to true greatness, the sublime and overpowering monumental truth of Jul’calla and his domain. Thanks be to Jul’calla. Praise him for his creatures and his mountains. May I and my Guwisti, the love of my life, live a long and loving time here in this Cherokee homeland. [End Page 63]
