From the Minutes of the Fifty-ninth Annual Session of the Union Association of Regular Baptists of Jesus Christ, held with the Samaria Church, Pike County, Kentucky, September the 20th, 21st, and 22nd, 1918, Elder J. C. Swindall of Norland, Virginia, Moderator. (Printed by the Sword and Shield Publishing Company, Dry Creek, Kentucky.) On Saturday morning, September the 21st, met pursuant to adjournment . . . Ordered that all obituaries of our members furnished the Clerk be printed in these Minutes. Called on Committee appointed last year to visit Little Mary, Lonesome Dove, and Little Dove Churches to report. One of the Committee reported that he visited these churches, labored with them, and succeeded in getting peace restored between them. Took up the question of division in Pilgrim's Rest Church, 55 and appointed three elders to visit the church on the first Saturday and Sunday in November, 1918, to labor with both parties and restore peace if possible. Took up the query from Sweet Home Church: Does God choose wives for men, or do men choose wives for themselves? In answer, we, as advisory council, say that men choose wives for themselves and that God don't choose wives for men. Took up the request of Thornton Church and at her request we publish Elder Simey Adams in disorder he having been excluded from the fellowship of this church. 2. From the Minutes of the Union Association of Old Regular Baptists ofJesus Christ Seventy-seventh Annual Session, held with the Ash Camp Church Pike County, Kentucky September 18, 19, and 20, 1936. On Saturday morning, September the 19th, met pursuant to adjournment and after singing and prayer called the roll and marked the absentees . . . 56 Called on those appointed last year to attend the Union Meetings to report. Some failures were reported and the brethren failing to attend were excused. The letters to Sister Associations were read, as follows: To Sardis, New Salem, Friendship, Indian Bottom, Kyova and Mud River. The Clerk begs pardon for the oversight in leaving out Mud River last year. On Sunday morning, September the 20th, this session of the Union Association closed with shouting and praising God and three converts came forward and took up fellowship at the close of the services by experience and baptism. Our next Association will be held with the Dorton Creek Church, Dorton, Kentucky, beginning on Friday before the third Saturday in September 1937.
