Abstract

Microcomputers play an important role in the field of educational technology. They are just now being introduced into a limited number of special education programs and, in particular, programs for the hearing impaired.

The purpose of this article is to provide an overview of how microcomputers have been introduced and implemented in a secondary-level program for the hearing impaired. They are helping to create an exciting and motivating educational environment for a large deaf and hard-of-hearing population. The authors hope the information presented will be beneficial to others who wish to use computer technology in deaf education.
