Abstract

The availability and use of telecommunication devices for the deaf is increasing. To insure that New Jersey's hearing-impaired students are exposed to these devices, a statewide telecommunication training program was developed. This program, in which 14 different school districts are involved, serves residential and day schools, self-contained classrooms, and resource rooms. It includes an orientation program, a "TTY communication network" among the schools, portable units for home use, and a "TTY Newsletter."
