The Journal of the Midwest Modern Language Association is a peer-reviewed journal that is published twice a year, in the spring and fall, as a service to Midwest Modern Language Association members, who are encouraged to submit essays and book reviews. For over fifty years, the JMMLA has been a lively forum for scholarship across all fields of literary study, welcoming the fullest possible range of subjects and critical approaches. In a time of ever-narrowing professional specialization, the JMMLA remains a place where scholars can speak with one another across the boundaries of period, methodology, and discipline.
