HOLLIS TAYLOR is a research fellow at Macquarie University. American by birth, she had enjoyed a thirty-year international career in classical, jazz, and world music when in 2002 she had an epiphany upon hearing the song of an Australian bird. A violinist/composer, ornithologist, and author, she confronts and revises the study of birdsong in her work, adding the novel reference point of a musician’s trained ear. Her previous posts include fellowships at the Institute for Advanced Study in Berlin, the Muséum national d’Histoire naturelle in Paris, and the University of Technology Sydney. ...
