The Department of Romance Languages and Literatures at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is home to two academic journals, Hispanófila and Romance Notes, and a monograph series, the North Carolina Studies in Romance Languages and Literatures (NCSRLL). Hispanófila, publishing on any literary, linguistic, or cultural topic dealing with the Spanish and Portuguese-speaking worlds, was brought to the University in 1968. Romance Notes, accepting articles on any literary, cultural, or linguistic topic dealing with Romance studies, was founded in 1959. The NCSRLL book series has also built its own legacy with nearly 300 titles in print since its initiation in 1940.
