Under its original name of the Vladimir Nabokov Society, the International Vladimir Nabokov Society was founded on December 29, 1978, about a year and a half after the author's death. The web site of the IVNS is ZEMBLA (http://www.libraries.psu.edu/nabokov/zembla.htm), hosted by Penn State University and designed and administered by Jeff Edmunds. Nabokov Studies was launched in 1974 by D. Barton Johnson, and is currently edited by Zoran Kuzmanovich and published by Davidson College in Davidson, N.C.
