Institut national d'études démographiques

Website: http://www.ined.fr/en/

The main mission of the French National Institute of Demographic Studies (Institut national d'études démographiques, INED) is to analyse the demographic situation and population trends worldwide, in Europe and in France. INED adopts a multidisciplinary approach, and its areas of expertise cover not only the study of purely demographic phenomena such as nuptiality, fertility, mortality and migration, but also demography applied to society, economics, public health, human geography, history and more. Alongside its mission of scientific research, INED is responsible for collecting and disseminating demographic information on France and the other countries of the world. It also contributes to "training in research and through research".
