Located in the heart of downtown Atlanta, Georgia State is the only urban research university in Georgia. Georgia State University offers educational opportunities for traditional and nontraditional students at both the graduate and undergraduate levels by blending the best of theoretical and applied inquiry, scholarly and professional pursuits, and scientific and artistic expression. The Department of English is one of the largest and most vibrant departments at GSU, with 45 full-time faculty, more than 500 undergraduate majors, and almost 300 graduate students. The GSU English Department has two journals that are included in Project MUSE.
