The Playwright Perpetua Nkamanyang Lola is a Senior Lecturer of English Literary Studies and Literary Theories at The University of Bamenda, Cameroon. She had served as Organization and Research Documentation Officer in Justus Liebig University, Giessen, Germany, and is presently Head of Service for Extra-African Cooperation at The University of Bamenda, and First Deputy Mayor of Mbiame Council. Lola earned her Bachelor’s degree, Diplomes D’etudes Approfondies (DEA), and a Master’s degree from the University of Yaounde 1, and an outstanding Ph.D degree in Literary and Cultural studies from the University of Justus Liebig in Giessen, Germany (2008). Since 2007, she has been associated with the Giessen Graduate Centre for the Study of Culture (GCSC). Lola has been lecturer at the University of Douala (2000-2013) where she served as Head of English Section and Coordinator of Post-Graduate Programs of the English Section (2008-2013). Her research interests are in the areas of: narrative and culture, identity, postcolonial narratology, poetry, gender/feminist studies, and interdisciplinary/travelling concepts. She is presently working on a Literary oriented Interdisciplinary Research Methodology based project which she envisages as a foundation for the eventual introduction of Interdisciplinary theories and methods of teaching, interpretation and analysis of the relationship between Literary texts and their contexts of production in the Department of English.
