His lions were kept in huge cages within the confines of the palace. The few times he went to admire them eat did not take him out of the palace grounds therefore. King Awobua was bent on making this occasion memorable. He was dressed in a flowery marked and specially designed robe, crowned with an elaborate colourful cap with tassels. His sandals were of raw leather made from lion skin. The coach took him through cheering crowds for over two kilometres to the venue of the event. Holidays meant no work and no personal occupation. Those who could not have access to the slaughter grounds were compelled to stay in the streets and show maximum support to the king. Because of the grandeur of the occasion, the culprits were not simply dropped into the lions’ cages in the palace grounds. They had rather transferred all the lions some distance away to the appropriate venue for such a grand butchery. The ceremonial ground was something similar to the Circus Maximus in the days of Caesar and ancient Rome. A thunderous applause erupted as king Awobua entered and everybody stood up, and this continued till the king sat on his special place reserved for him. Dwarfs rushed up and down, making sure he was comfortable and that his mukal was served and other needs were provided. “The king of Mungongoh.” announced Mobuh who was ensconced in another special place next to the king. “People of Mungongoh, we have been living in peace for all this while K 116 ruled by a gentle, understanding and generous king. It is certain that you could never have a better person to rule you.” This announcement was received with lots of clapping and shouting. Finally, the applause died down as the king put up his right hand. “My worthy subjects,” he said. He did not need to shout. With improved technology, the king’s cloths could transmit his speeches far and it would sound as if he was speaking to you from close up. “Kings of Mungongoh have always been great men. They are born as kings and no ordinary man can become one. Great kings like us should rule over vast domains and my appetite for this big fertile planet called earth is no secret to you all. You are therefore aware of my intention to clear off all those worthless fellows from there and provide a wonderful place for all of you. This means you would have access to all the good things that those greedy pigs on earth gobble up every day. You can see the wonderful future I have been planning for you all this while. Everybody in Mungongoh should be grateful for the efforts I have been making. I even set up an institute of well paid members just so that they should develop ideas to enable us take over the earth. So far the members of the IRDI have not succeeded in coming out with that wonderful idea, but as forgiving as I am, I held back the compulsion of offering them to my lions. Instead of being grateful for this, my leniency was taken for weakness and one of the members of this institution that I had created to enable me take over the earth, rather decided to turn traitor. Whatever the earthlings offered him, I don’t know. He allied with earthlings to capture and transform us into slaves.
