60 Two Wills On the shores of Lake Michigan I saw well-mannered nature In the unobtrusive expanse of water. So dignifying, in a bid to nurture Birds flying skywards, and humanity. So peaceful, so wonderful, so sure As the waves gently washed themselves ashore. Ah what sublimity. When I turned about and backed the lake It was hotels, offices and cathedrals, flying skywards. Rail lines snaking through the city and disappearing downwards. Overhead bridges meandering and crisscrossing the streets Peppering the scurrying changes. Such un-dignifying arrogance, in a bid to beat nature. It’s turbulent, terrible and unsure As herds of humans still trod along to nobody knew where. Ah what calamity. When I stepped off the spot, I saw that The difference was clear. The difference between two wills. The will of God and the will of man. ...
