At Play The 12th February 1920, seems to have marked the University's theatrical start, when the students offered a series of plays by Lord Dunsany at the Theatre Royal in the City Hall; the next month they threw a party for Mane Tempest who was visiting. Drama has now taken its place as a popular course in the degree curriculum. The Lily Pond. separating grass stage from a natural auditorium, was const· ructed after a design made in 1951 in the sands or Deep-water Bay by Donald Could and the author.
