52 J. Oerstroem Moeller ABOUT THE AUTHOR J. Oerstroem Moeller graduated from the University of Copenhagen in 1968 with a degree in politics. In the same year he joined the Royal Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. From 1989 to 1997 he was the State-Secretary in the Ministry dealing with affairs of the European Union, North Atlantic Treaty Organization, and the World Trade Organization. In 1997 he was appointed Ambassador to Singapore and Brunei Darussalam and in 2002, also to Australia and New Zealand. He is a member of the Council of the World Future Society, member of the Board of Governors of the Asia-Europe Foundation, 53 About the Author and Chairman of the Advisory Board of the Asia Research Centre, Copenhagen Business School.
