Notes on Contributors Chachage Seithy L. Chachage was a Professor of Sociology and Chairman of the University of Dar es Salaam Staff Association. He had published extensively on Sociology, and written many novels in Swahili language. Until his death on 9th July 2006, Professor Chachage was member of the Executive Committee of the Council for the Development of Social Science Research in Africa (CODESRIA), which he had served in several other capacities, including as Chair of its Scientific Committee. Mwajabu Kachenje Possi is a Professor of Special Needs Education, specializing in Behavior Analysis. Her teaching area also covers Learning Disabilities, Mental Retardation, Mass Communication Research, Gender and the Media. She is currently the Director of the Institute of Journalism and Mass Communication , Univeristy of Dar es Salaam. Amos Mhina is an Associate Professor in the Department of Political Science and Coodinator of the Philosophy Unit, University of Dar es Salaam. Joe Kanywanyi is a Professor of Economic Law at the University of Dar es Salaam. He has also been a High Court judge, chair and member of many commissions including the Tanzania Law Reform Commission. Geoffrey Mmari is a Professor Emeritus of Mathematics, University of Dar es Salaam and founding Vice Chancellor, Open University of Tanzania.
