About the Author henry A. Myers is Professor Emeritus of History at James Madison University. Dr. Myers earned the B.A. from Swarthmore College, the M.A. from Boston University, and the Ph.D. from Brandeis University. He also studied at the Free University of Berlin and the Institut for Österreiche Geschichtsforschung. Dr. Myers taught at JMU for 42 years in global and intellectual history. His published books include Medieval Kingship (Nelson-Hall, 1982), Postwar Trade in Divided Germany co-authored with Karel Holbik (Johns Hopkins, 1964), and West German Foreign Aid, 19561966 : Its Economic and Political Aspects co-authored with Karel Holbik (Boston University, 1969). He also co-edited several editions of The Global Experience, a two-volume reader in World history, and authored numerous scholarly articles. In addition to scholarly pursuits, Dr. Myers was a competitive equestrian athlete for many years. He and his wife are proud parents and grandparents, who reside in Churchville, Virginia. ...
