Janson, the typeface used in this book, was designed not by the Dutch-born, Leipzig-based type founder Anton Janson (1620–87) whose name it bears, but by Miklos Kis (1650–1702), a Hungarian type designer working in Amsterdam. The typeface was cut sometime around 1690.
