ABOuT ThE AuThOR KATHLEEN S. LAMP is an assistant professor of English at Arizona State University . Lamp holds a B.A. in classical archaeology and communication from Randolph-Macon Woman’s College and a M.A. and Ph.D. in speech communication from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She has also participated in excavations at Carthage and is an alumna of Duke University’s Intercollegiate Center for Classical Studies program in Rome.
