ACKNOWLEDGMENTS Books are always collaborative ventures that rely on the assistance of numerous people, and this one is no exception. Their enthusiasm for and support of this project inspired us throughout the writing and research. We would be remiss if we failed to thank Larry and Maggie Malley for their warm hospitality during our trip to Fayetteville, Arkansas, in the summer of 2006. Anne Prichard and Tom W.
