ABOUT THE AUTHORS Catherine M. Lewis is an associate professor of history at Kennesaw State University and a curator the special projects coordinator for the Atlanta History Center. She completed a BA in English and History with honors at Emory University and an MA and PhD in American Studies at the University of Iowa. She has curated more than twenty exhibitions throughout the nation and has published six books, including The Changing Face of Public History: The Chicago Historical Society and the Transformation of an American History Museum (Northern Illinois University Press, 2005) and Don’t Ask What I Shot: How Eisenhower’s Love of Golf Helped Shape 1950s America (McGraw-Hill, 2007). J. Richard Lewis is president of JRL Educational Services, Inc. He completed his BA in English at Mercer University, his MA in English at Florida State University, and his PhD in curriculum and instruction at the University of Maryland. He spent his career as an educator and administrator in Florida, Maryland, and Virginia. He has served as a visiting faculty member at Western Maryland College and Johns Hopkins University. He retired as the director of Success for All and as a researcher at Johns Hopkins University in 2001.
