Once a mirage watery illusion shimmering hope in every hot sun a trick of vision or light pursued to death by every lost traveler. But listen. What they have never named cannot claim survived here on roots and cactus milk. Jack rabbit terrain cracked open in thirst. Morteros, hollowed bellies of rocks, fill now with rain and memory.
