103 Discography This chapter documents all known published recordings by Wade Mainer and includes all available information about each session. All early titles from 1935 through matrix BS 011823 (2 August 1937) appear on the boxed compact disc set J.E. Mainer[,] The Early Years, JSP Records JSP77118, and a forthcoming set that will contain remaining pre–World War II performances. Sessions by J.E. Mainer’s Mountaineers without Wade are omitted here; solo performances by others without Wade are included when they constitute part of a Wade Mainer session. All titles made through 1953 originally appeared as 78 rpm 10” discs. Some 1951 King couplings may have appeared as both 78 and 45 rpm singles. Montgomery Ward issues through M-7480 are credited to Mainer’s Mountaineers. Montgomery Ward also applied the credit to performances by (and credited to) J.E. Mainer on Bluebird, whether or not they included Wade. Composer credits appear on post–World War II records only. Releases indicated in italics are 33 1/3 or 45 rpm pressings or compact discs (CD).
