257 A P P E N D I X T W O Glossary Bonnín Aguiló, Eduardo: Born in Palma de Mallorca, Spain, in 1917, Bonnín was the founder and one of the main architects of the weekend Cursillo “short course in Christianity” movement. He died in Palma in 2008. Cursillistas: People who have “made” their Cursillo weekend. Cursillo de Cristiandad (CdC): The three-day “short course in Christianity” weekend retreat that was founded by Eduardo Bonnín Aguiló in 1944 in Cala Figuera, Santanyí, Mallorca, Spain. De Colores (many colors): Expression used by cursillistas to refer to their changed postweekend status as renewed Christians. Also refers to a Mexican folk song that has been the trademark song of the CdC since 1949. Protestant cursillistas also use the expression as well as the song in their weekends. Fourth Day: The post-Cursillo, “the rest of your life,” after the three-day weekend is over. Fourth-Day movement: Catholic and Protestant weekend Cursillos that consider the “Fourth Day,” after the three-day Cursillo weekend, to be the rest of the cursillista ’s life.
