In Virginia, the Virginia Historical Society provided very helpful lists of Mennonite men of conscience. Public libraries in Rockingham and Augusta counties furnished important material as well. Mennonite historical libraries and archives were especially helpful: Mennonite Heritage Center, Harleysville, Pennsylvania; Lancaster (Pa.)
