A P P E N D I X B Federalist Society Members and Allies M any of the members of the Federalist Society, even those who wield substantial power and influence, are not well known to the general public. For the convenience of the reader, we provide below an alphabetical list and brief biographical information, including their law school and graduation year (where applicable), for significant Federalist Society members or allies we have mentioned . As with many political groups, not all members of the Federalist Society publicly state that they are members. In the text, we have tried to indicate, when possible, those who publicly identify as members of the society. We also frequently refer to “allies,” “affiliates,” or “friends” of the Federalist Society. Those terms refer to people who frequently speak at Federalist Society meetings and debates, publish in Federalist Society journals, or who work closely with Federalist Society members on lawsuits, amicus briefs, or public issue campaigns. We were unable to determine whether the individuals described by these terms are members of the Federalist Society. In the paragraphs below, we have not distinguished between members and allies , unless the listing indicates that the person holds a particular position in the Federalist Society. To be clear, we are not saying that everyone listed below is a member of the Federalist Society.
