Supplemental Documents 291 Supplemental Document 1 The State of the Conversions, Churches and Conventos of the Custodia de San Pablo in New Mexico in the Matter of Granting Forty Friars Circa 16411 Certification of the notices that exist for the Custodia of the New Mexico, part of the Province of the Santo Evangelio of Mexico [City]; the state of the conversions, churches, conventos, and divine worship, which are noted above by [the] relation and notices that were given of that custody by the father predicador fray Gerónimo de Zarate Salmerón, exemplary minister in that custody, remitted to the very reverend father fray Francisco de Apodaca, Father of the Province of Cantabria and Comisario General of the [Provinces] of New Spain, from the year 1538 until the year 1626.
