7. Deportation of the Lang Families

On November 28, 1941, 15 members of the Lang family walked to the Süssen train station guarded by the local policeman. Their journey into deportation and death had begun. At the holding camp Killesberg in Stuttgart they were detained with another thousand Jews from Württemberg, all of whom were deported to Riga concentration camp on December 1. Only 30 survived. After their deportation, their personal possessions and household goods as well as furniture were auctioned off to the local population at bargain basement prices. The receipts were turned over to the financial authority in Geislingen an der Steige for use by the Reich.
