Rhoades Many people have contributed the labor and support necessary for this collection of letters to become available for public use. First and foremost , this project would not have been possible without the commitment , effort, and integrity of Nancy Rhoades, the coeditor of this text xix and the granddaughter of Edwin Lewis Lybarger. I gratefully acknowledge her efforts to make these rich family documents available to a wider audience and her graciousness in welcoming me to the project . I wish that she could have seen the evolution of the project and her grandfather’s collection in its final form. Mrs. Rhoades died on April , , at Friendship Village in Dublin, Ohio. She leaves a lasting gift to Ohio’s and women’s history.
