Over the last five years, I have had the great pleasure and honor of meeting more than 100 former members of the Civilian Conservation Corps.They are humble in the telling of their story.There was neither boasting nor bravado in their stories, just a twinkling in their eyes and, on occasion, a mischievous grin, as they recalled fond memories from a long time ago. For many years, their stories were shared just among themselves at ever-growing smaller reunions at various state parks. As their numbers have declined , their concern was that their accomplishments might be forgotten. A Great and Lasting Good is dedicated to these wonderful gentlemen. I hope it will serve as a record of their accomplishments for future generations.The accompanying CD contains the full interviews with these remarkable men.
