ABOUT THE AUTHOR William T. Pizzi is a 1971 graduate of Harvard Law School where he was a member of the Harvard Law Review and from which he graduated with honors. Following his graduation, he was an Assistant United States Attorney for the District of New Jersey. In 1975, he joined the faculty at the University of Colorado School of Law where he has taught since that time. In 1996, he received the law school’s award for teaching excellence. He has also been honored by both the Colorado Bar Association and the Colorado Supreme Court for his bar service. His main research interest is the study of foreign trial systems and he has spent a considerable amount of time in foreign countries observing trial systems, mostly in Europe, but also in countries as varied as South Africa, India, Malaysia, and China. He has twice been a lecturer in Italy at the invitation of the United States Information Service and in November 1997 lectured in China as a guest of the Center for Criminal Justice and Criminal Law Research at China University. 257 ...
