ABOUT THE AUTHORS RAYMOND RUSSELL is a professor of sociology at the University of California , Riverside. He has studied participation by employees in the ownership and control of their workplaces in many contexts and countries, including the United States, Israel, and Russia. His previous works on Israel include Utopia in Zion: The Israeli Experience with Worker Cooperatives. ROBERT HANNEMAN is a professor of sociology at the University of California, Riverside. His past research has examined patterns of organizational change in national medical care, educational welfare, and political institutions. He is currently working on the complex dynamics of social network development, primarily for medical and community development applications. SHLOMO GETZ has been a researcher at the University of Haifa’s Institute for Kibbutz Research since 1985, and senior lecturer at Emek Yezreel College since 2006.
