Foremost among them are my family members, Leigh and Gabby, who not only watched a great deal of animation with me, but did so with some apparent relish and were willing to talk about what we had seen. My fellow Georgia Tech faculty members, especially Carol Senf and Shannon Dobranski, were willing sounding boards for my thoughts on various shorts and features, and my dean, Ken Knoespel , was, as always, highly supportive, passing along films he had come upon and letting me ramble on about various animation topics over numerous lunch meetings. Deserving of special thanks are my students at Tech, especially those who have taken my courses on animation and on Disney. They brought an enthusiasm and an always surprising level of sophistication to classroom discussions that helped educate me about animation and, in the process, made this a better book.
