Abstract

ABSTRACT:

As Asian Americans have increasingly adopted digital spaces to drive identity politics discourse, this trend has also fueled the explosive growth of an online, anti-feminist Asian American men's rights subculture (colloquially, "MRAsians"). This essay explores the roots of the MRAsian movement, and specifically examines how MRAsians draw inspiration from both Asian American author Frank Chin as well as mainstream men's movement ideologies to promote an increasingly extreme Asian American anti-feminism that views the targeted harassment of Asian American women as a core unifying principle. Lastly, this essay considers the long-lasting impact of the MRAsian movement on its victims, adherents, and on the larger Asian American politic.
