Abstract

When working with footage of Hollywood stars, avant-garde filmmakers subject these stars' images to a complex dialectic of critique and admiration, analysis and appreciation, deconstruction and reconstruction. The resulting images invest the stars' original auras with a new, more ambiguous significance.
