Mansel G. Blackford is professor emeritus in history at the Ohio State University. He is the author, most recently, of Columbus, Ohio: Two Centuries of Business and Environmental Change (Columbus: Ohio State University Press, 2016).

Samuel Phillips edited the Civil War journal, Torn by War (Norman: University of Oklahoma Press, 2013). With a BS and MS from the California Institute of Technology (Caltech), he is a mechanical engineer, consulting in manufacturing and patent litigation from the historic Gold Rush town of Grass Valley, California.

Arthur Andrew Savery graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1996 with a BS in mechanical engineering, and received an MA in history from the University of Nebraska–Kearney in 2017. [End Page 4]
