Abstract:
This epilogue examines key topics related to sovereignty that were raised by the articles in this special issue and analyzes them from the perspective of harm. Focusing on a case discussed by Edward Coke, this epilogue demonstrates that from a legal perspective harm poses a fundamental challenge to concepts of individual and state sovereignty. Shifting focus to Venus and Adonis, this epilogue goes on to demonstrate how harm suggests a more generative biopolitics that subverts both individual autonomy and juridical sovereignty.
