Lillian Blades

Lillian Blades was born in Nassau, attended The College of The Bahamas, and received the Chris Blackwell Junkanoo Scholarship enabling her to complete a BFA from Savannah College of Art and Design and an MFA in painting at Georgia State University. Additionally, she studied at the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture in Maine and at the Caversham Centre for Artists and Writers in the Kwa-Zula Natal Province, South Africa. She resides and works in Atlanta, Georgia, where she has completed commissions for Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport and Jean Childs Young Middle School. Her artwork is in the collection of the Birmingham Museum of Art and the National Art Gallery of The Bahamas, among other public and private collections. She was the 2016 Visual Artist awardee for the National Black Arts Festival and received an Award for Excellence in Visual Arts in the Bahamas.
