News Notes Thomas Nelson & Sons has published, under the title War and Society in North America, the papers delivered at the 1970 C.A.A.S. conference. The volume, edited by J. L. Granatstein and R. D. Cuff, is cleanly printed and handsomely bound in paper. In addition, the assembled essays make as strong an impact as did the papers at the conference. (Robert Fulford gave the book a laudatory review in the September 4, 1971, Toronto Star, in spite of his seeming mystification about the exact lineaments of '' a group. called the Canadian Association for American Studies.'')
