NewsNotes 121 News Notes Ourreaders will note that the masthead of the Canadian Review of American Studies presents a new face to the world in two important ways. First, as a result of gratifyingly increased support from subscribers and contributors, the Review will, beginning with this number, become a thrice-yearly publication .For 1979at least, individual membership in the CAAS will remain at$ 15 perannum, but we have had to increase the annual institutional subscription from$8 per annum to $12.00 per annum. It should be noted, however, that the increase is on a quid pro quo basis. Second, Bruce C. Daniels of the Department of History at the University of Winnipeg replaces T. E. Vadney of the Department of History at the University of Manitoba as Co-editor. The Editorial Board accepted with regret Tom Vadney's resignation, effective November I, 1978, and they wish him well in his future endeavors. Published quarterly, Alternative Futures solicits manuscripts in utopian and futures-oriented scholarship. It features material fromthe entire range of disciplines bearing on utopian and futures thinking: philosophy, history and literature on the one hand, and ecology, sociology, politicalscience and values aspects of science and technology on the other. It was felt that those who share this interest wouldwelcome the exchange of ideas throughout the year and during the comention. In addition to these.' several panels under the aegis of the PRG will also be organized, noneof which will conflict in time or content with Professor Bailey's panels.
