Editors Note Over the last four years, our journal has been fortunate to have the services of Professor Shel Silverman as our social sciences book review editor. Now that Professor Silverman is retiring, we would like to thank him for all his efforts on behalf of the journal. We would also like to welcome Professor Norman Knowles as the new, temporary, book review editor for the social sciences. Professor Knowles is a specialist in late-nineteenth-century intellectual and cultural history, with an active interest in labour and religion in Canada and the United States.
